A homeowner residing in the scenic town of Front Royal, Virginia, was facing a persistent issue of water seeping into their home through the foundation. This created a damp environment that was not only uncomfortable but also posed potential risks to the structural integrity of the property. The situation called for an immediate and effective solution to prevent any further damage.
Upon being alerted of the problem, our team of technical advisors promptly set up an appointment to visit the home. Our experts, armed with years of experience and extensive knowledge in dealing with such issues, carried out a thorough inspection of the property. They were able to identify the exact points of water ingress and assess the extent of the problem.
After careful consideration and analysis, our advisors recommended a comprehensive plan designed to eradicate the basement's water issue effectively. The proposed solution was not merely a quick fix, but a robust system intended to provide long-term protection against water intrusion.
The first part of the solution involved installing a WaterGuard system. This is a piping system ingeniously engineered to capture wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system via inlet holes and is then funneled away to the sump pump. The WaterGuard system is installed inside the basement along the perimeter to effectively manage water and keep the space dry.
Alongside the WaterGuard system, we also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump. This state-of-the-art device offers three levels of protection for the basement and is designed to handle the highest pumping demands. In case of power outages or pump failures, the TripleSafe system can still operate efficiently, ensuring continuous protection against water intrusion.
To supplement the effectiveness of the sump pump, an IceGuard system was put in place. This innovative component allows water to escape from the sump pump discharge line if it becomes frozen or blocked for any reason. This feature is particularly beneficial during the colder months when freezing is a common issue.
We also ensured to install a discharge line. This critical component works in conjunction with the sump pump, directing the water away from the home. This helps to prevent any water from pooling around the foundation and finding its way back into the basement.
Finally, to improve the overall air quality and reduce humidity levels in the basement, we installed a SaniDry Sedona. This high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system can effectively dry and clean the air in your space, making it healthier, more comfortable, and less likely to support mold growth.
Through this multi-faceted approach, we were able to provide a comprehensive solution to the homeowner's water issue, ensuring their basement remains dry and safe from potential water damage.
