In Great Falls, VA, a homeowner envisioned transforming their basement into a cozy spare bedroom. The key to this transformation was the installation of an egress window, essential not only for safety as an emergency exit but also to flood the space with natural light. The homeowner turned to NV Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to bring this vision to life.
Understanding the importance of a dry and secure environment, NV Waterproofing recommended integrating a WellDuct Drainage system alongside the egress window installation. This system was crucial in preventing potential water intrusion, safeguarding the new bedroom from dampness and flooding.
The NV Waterproofing team tackled the project with precision, cutting through the foundation to fit the egress window perfectly while ensuring the structural integrity of the home. The WellDuct system was skillfully installed to divert water away from the basement, ensuring a dry and comfortable living space.
Thanks to NV Waterproofing and Foundation Repair's expertise and professionalism, the homeowner's basement was successfully transformed into a bright and inviting spare bedroom, complete with a safe escape route and reliable water protection. The project not only fulfilled the homeowner's needs but also added significant value and utility to their home.
Waterproofing a complete basement in Fairfax, VA
The customer was keen on converting the below-grade "bonus room" into an official bedroom. To achieve this, our technical advisor conducted a detailed inspection of the property and outlined a strategy for the transformation. The plan required the homeowner to dismantle the deck covering the current window and replace it with an egress window to ensure a safe exit for occupants. Additionally, the customer chose to install a sunhouse cover to maximize natural light in the basement space. The customer was extremely satisfied with the outcome and is now able to appreciate the basement even more.
We recently had the privilege of working on a critical project in the scenic city of Fairfax, Virginia. A charming home in this historic town was grappling with a common yet worrisome issue - a settling foundation. To make matters worse, this led to the infiltration of water into their basement whenever the skies opened up. Recognizing the severity of the situation, our skilled team quickly sprang into action. Our first step was to install several push piers, which are designed to provide robust support to the foundation. This strategic move fortified the home's base, ensuring it can stand strong and stable for years to come. However, our efforts didn't stop there. We understood that merely strengthening the foundation wouldn't address the other half of the problem - the recurring water intrusion. So, we took the initiative to implement a comprehensive waterproofing system to safeguard the basement against future water issues. We installed our state-of-the-art WaterGuard system, known for its exceptional ability to keep basements dry. As part of this system, we also added a CleanSpace wall barrier, which prevents moisture from seeping through walls. And to top it all off, we included a Triple Safe sump pump, renowned for its reliability in preventing basement flooding. Our dual approach - reinforcing the foundation and waterproofing the basement - has provided these homeowners with a permanent solution to their problems. Now, they can enjoy peace of mind knowing they won't have to deal with foundation or water intrusion issues again.
