A homeowner in a Washington, DC townhouse was dealing with persistent moisture issues in their crawl space. The damp environment was causing musty odors, increased humidity throughout the home, and concerns about potential mold growth. Recognizing the need for a solution, the homeowner contacted NV Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for help. Our Design Specialist conducted a free inspection of the property to assess the problem and determine the best course of action.
To resolve the moisture issues, we installed a full crawl space encapsulation system. First, we laid down durable drainage matting to allow water to flow properly beneath the encapsulation. Next, we installed SilverGlo insulation panels to improve energy efficiency and reflect heat back into the home. We then sealed the crawl space with a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, creating a moisture-proof barrier to protect the home from dampness and mold. Finally, we added a SaniDry Dehumidifier to maintain low humidity levels and ensure the crawl space stays dry year-round.
The transformation was remarkable. The crawl space went from a damp, musty problem area to a clean, dry, and energy-efficient space. The homeowner was thrilled with the results, knowing their home was now healthier, more comfortable, and protected from future moisture issues.

For added peace of mind, we included an IceGuard system to prevent water backup in the discharge line during freezing conditions.
The results were outstanding. The homeowner now has a fully waterproofed basement that stays dry even during the heaviest rains. They were thrilled with the transformation and relieved to no longer worry about flooding or water damage.
