The customer, living in Suitland, MD, expressed significant concern about the vast amount of water seeping into their home's basement. In response to this issue, we sent our technical advisor to inspect the property thoroughly.
After a meticulous examination of the space, we determined that the optimal solution would entail several steps:
Firstly, we would need to install a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system. This system is designed to effectively capture and divert water at the perimeter of your basement, draining it away unseen.
Secondly, for easy access to the system for maintenance or inspection, a WaterGuard Port would also need to be installed.
Thirdly, based on the given drawing, an XL TrenchDrain, along with a lateral feed line to the TrenchDrain, would be incorporated into the setup. These components play a crucial role in managing water flow efficiently.
To facilitate the installation of the WaterGuard and/or CleanSpace, some sections of the drywall would need to be removed. Please note that our team does not handle drywall replacement.
To prevent future flooding from clogged or frozen discharge lines, we recommended installing an IceGuard system.
For efficient water removal, we suggested installing an exterior discharge line, as illustrated in the drawing.
To keep water from the sump or gutters away from the structure and reduce potential water damage, a LawnScape Outlet was proposed.
We also advised using a TripleSafe pump system, which includes a twin liner, a primary cast iron AC pump, a back-up cast iron AC pump, and an UltraSump battery back-up pumping system. This system also features a charging/control box with an alarm and a sealed, maintenance-free battery. Also included are three CleanPump stands, an airtight lid with an airtight floor drain, and a WaterWatch alarm system.
To provide additional protection against moisture, we recommended installing a CleanSpace wall of a certain height.
Lastly, to maintain a dry, clean, and healthier environment in the basement, we suggested installing a SaniDry Sedona system, a high-performance dehumidification and air purification system.
This comprehensive approach is designed to holistically address the water intrusion problem, ensuring a dry and safe basement for the homeowner.
